Benefits

VCU School of Pharmacy residents receive comprehensive dental, medical and prescription coverage. Coverage begins on the first day of employment after required forms are submitted. During orientation, human resources will discuss options related to your plan. Benefits are paid by payroll deduction throughout the year.

Salary and Professional Development Funds

Post-Graduate Year Two residents receive an annual salary of $47,476. Beyond salary and benefits, residents are provided a laptop for use during the residency. Additional support for professional development is available based on resident areas of interest and approval from the residency director. Past residents have attended a variety of meetings including AADE, ACCP, ASHP, ACC and NLA.

Leave

Ten days of annual leave are provided each year. All annual leave must be approved in advance per the institutional guidelines. An additional 10 days of sick leave is offered in situations where the resident is unable to work due to illness. Meeting attendance does not count toward annual leave time.

Faculty Appointment

Residents receive a faculty appointment as a clinical instructor at VCU School of Pharmacy and may choose to complete a Teaching and Learning Certificate Program.
